Forestville, NY (04/20/10) – “Sauces For Soldiers,” a locally based not-for-profit program founded by Burning Asphalt Sauces, LLC, is featured in this month’s issue of Family Magazine.  Family Magazine distributes over 200,000 copies to our Active Armed Forces, Guard, and Reserve Forces in the United States as well as at overseas bases.

Family Magazine contacted Burning Asphalt Sauces after hearing about the program on the Food Network. Started in 2003, “Sauces For Soldiers” provides our overseas troops sauces, rubs, and snacks produced by Burning Asphalt Sauces. There is never a charge to our soldiers. Part of the profits of each item that the company sells and distributes goes directly to help support “Sauces For Soldiers.” 

 “The International coverage that Family Magazine has given our program is immeasurable. It is very important that we take every opportunity we can to support our troops and thank them for what they do for us and our freedom,” said Jeffrey Furash President/CEO of the company.  The exposure has expanded the address data base of overseas troops that the company will ship to. This year-round program shipped over 1000 items last year.

BURNING ASPHALT SAUCES MAKES HOLIDAY COMPUTER DONATION 

Gowanda, NY (12/14/09) – With the holiday season upon us, Burning Asphalt Sauces, a locally based specialty food company, has helped Santa to deliver 25 new computer systems. The new desktop computer systems have been distributed to school labs, community centers, homeless shelters, and foster homes. American veterans have also been the recipients of many of the computer systems. The recipients of the computer systems were evaluated on a case by case basis to insure that Burning Asphalt Sauces’ donations were properly distributed for placement. 

“We are extremely pleased to be in a position to bring happiness to many people during this holiday season” said Jeffrey Furash President/CEO of the company.  “With the advancement of technology and the impact that computers have on people’s lives, we have realized that people who can not afford computers need to have certain educational and informational needs met. Computers provide this.”

SAUCE COMPANY BRINGS AWARENESS TO DOMESTIC VIOLENCE  

Forestville, NY (10/26/09) – Burning Asphalt Sauces, a locally based specialty food company, recently announced their commitment to bring awareness to the seriousness of domestic violence and homelessness in Western New York and NE Pennsylvania. They will be offering several products that will have a limited edition label that promotes awareness to this serious epidemic.  

“Knowing the fact that one out of every four women in America will experience domestic violence at some point in her lifetime is ample reason to bring attention to this commonly overlooked epidemic,” said Jeffrey Furash, President/CEO of Burning Asphalt Sauces. “There is also a direct correlation between domestic abuse and homelessness that needs to be addressed.” The idea to promote awareness of domestic abuse and homelessness came to Furash when he was on a recent promotional road trip. A woman who had been abused mentioned to Furash the trauma that still haunts her today from an incident that took place over 20 years ago. A portion of the proceeds at the event that Burning Asphalt Sauces participated in was donated to a domestic violence and homelessness organization. 

The limited edition labels on selected sauces will feature artwork created by domestic violence victims. The company is also accepting artwork and poetry from victims to be featured anonymously on future labels. BURNING ASPHALT PROVIDES TROOPS A TASTE OF HOME

 Forestville, NY (12/06/07) – A love of this country and the desire to support our overseas troops has served as a catalyst for Burning Asphalt Sauces, LLC to create a non-profit program named “Sauces for Soldiers.”  Founded by Jeff Furash, President of Burning Asphalt Sauces and Marilyn Sticek, Forestville, NY Postmaster, this program has been providing overseas troops non-perishable sauces, snacks, and spices since 2003. The program is entirely non-government supported and funded by Burning Asphalt Sauces and friends. There is never a charge to our overseas armed forces. 

For the past few years, Burning Asphalt Sauces, a Forestville, NY gourmet specialty food manufacturer and distributor, has offered a limited number of collectible holiday gift packs to support a variety of non-profit organizations and charities. BURNING ASPHALT SAUCES A WINNER

5/31/2007 - Burning Asphalt Sauces, LLC of Forestville has received multiple awards for its home-style specialty food products. The small-batch private label and signature brand producer and distributor provides a full line of specialty food products to farm markets, country stores, grocery stores, wineries, roadside stands and specialty stores nationwide.

The “Wise Choice” line-up awards were recently presented in Arizona to Jeffrey Furash, President/CEO of the company, for their barbecue sauces, salsas, and mustards. Several of their other products, including their spaghetti sauces, hot sauces, wing sauce, and pepper products have received awards as well. The awards were based on taste, appearance, aroma, and packaging. Also taken into consideration was the basis of originality of the company and what the company gives back to the community. The one-of-a-kind trophy is unique in the fact that it is a true representation of the Southwestern area in which the awards were presented.

Burning Asphalt Sauces, LLC is the result of Furash owning a business called Burning Asphalt Racetracks. “Patrons of the racetracks used to joke about the name and how it would be a great name for a hot sauce,” he said.

After hearing this for several years, Furash decided to develop a hot sauce with the Burning Asphalt name. His goal was to produce a hot, flavorful sauce with integrity, quality, freshness and a dedication to balancing heat and flavor. The design was simple. The result was a highly praised and satisfying Habanero hot sauce. The first batch sold out immediately. A second batch was produced which sold out as well. Furash then decided to add two additional hot sauces; Jalapeno and Garlic Habanero. These were also successes.

The company now produces and distributes over 100 products, including snack foods such as hot and spicy cashews, peanuts, and Cajun mix. Don’t let the Burning Asphalt name fool you. The majority of their products are not hot at all. Besides the Burning Asphalt Sauces brand name, they recently acquired Twisted Vine Gardens and High Peaks Sauce Company.

With national distribution and an ever-increasing customer base came several requests from business owners to put their name and message on the fine quality Burning Asphalt products. A private-label program was then developed. “We wanted to make our private label program affordable for all types of outlets. In doing so we decided that there would be no minimums, no set-up fees, and no graphic charges for a standard private label. We do our own in-house printing of labels, therefore making it economical for a store to build its own brand and create consumer loyalty” Furash said. “Our fine quality home-style products are shelf stable and fast selling. Your customers will feel as if your products came direct from grandma’s kitchen.”

Burning Asphalt Sauces was recently recognized for its “Sauces for Soldiers” program which involves sending care packages containing sauces to deployed troops overseas. “This is the kind of project we love to embrace,” Furash said. “Providing troops a little taste of home and words of encouragement is a great way to show our support and gratitude for everything they do.”

Burning Asphalt to Sponsor Pace Car Rides at Wine Festival

 Watkins Glen, NY (April 27, 2007)—If July wasn’t already hot enough for you, the Finger Lakes Wine Festival, supported by The Corning Museum of Glass, will make it even hotter. Organizers announced Burning Asphalt Sauces as the official sponsor of the Pace Car Rides at the July 20-22, 2007 event.

The Festival takes place on the grounds of Watkins Glen International, the Soul of American Road Racing. While wine may be the focus of the Finger Lakes Wine Festival, guests may take a break from tasting to enjoy other activities—such as culinary classes, wine seminars, live music or The Corning Museum of Glass’ Hot Glass Roadshow. Festival-goers may also experience the heat of Burning Asphalt…literally… in a “Pace Car” ride around the world renown road course. These thrilling rides take place in one of the track’s official vehicles, for $5, 10am – 5pm, Saturday and Sunday. Festival admission is required.

Burning Asphalt Sauces wins Chili Cook-Off and Donates Money to Charity

Forestville, NY – Burning Asphalt Sauces, LLC of Forestville swept both categories of the Cherry Creek Fall Festival Chili Cook Off this past weekend while raising money for charity. The award winning chili was an original recipe created by Marilyn Sticek of Forestville, a consultant to the company for product development.

Ms. Sticek’s “Sweet & Hot Garlic” chili, a flavorful blend of garlic, habanero peppers, spices, and meat seasoned with Burning Asphalt Sweet & Hot Garlic hot sauce, earned rave reviews from the attendees. “This chili was the best I have ever tasted. Initially it had a sweet garlic taste and then the heat snuck up, but not so hot that it would burn your mouth out,” said Carla Desimone of N.Tonawanda, NY.

The “People’s Choice” category award winner was determined by which chili entry collected the most money from the attendees. After sampling the various chili recipes, attendees would vote by placing money in a bin next to their favorite choice. Ms. Sticek’s chili won this category by 66%. The “Judge’s Overall Best Chili” category was also won by Ms. Sticek. The award money Ms. Sticek received was matched by Burning Asphalt Sauces and donated to charity.

Burning Asphalt Sauces & IRL Team Up at Watkins Glen

Watkins Glen, NY – Burning Asphalt Sauces, LLC of Forestville, NY and the Indy Racing League teamed up this past week at Watkins Glen, NY for the Inaugural Watkins Glen Grand Prix Festival. This well attended event drew fans from the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Offering their signature line of hot sauces, bar-b-que sauces, salsas, steak sauce, and unique gift packs, Burning Asphalt Sauces also introduced their racing related “Gas & Go” Garlic Sauce. The bottle, sporting a picture of an Indy type car and an actual pit stop, was a big hit. “It was great to see this type of product and taste-testing at an Indy race event. I have followed Indy racing for years and being able to purchase Burning Asphalt sauces right on location was great, especially since I have heard of the company at NASCAR events,” said Dave Santos of Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

Several Indy drivers and teams attended the event and could be found at Burning Asphalt Sauces’ display. “What a great, well attended event this is. Showcasing our products to the fans, drivers, and teams is very exciting. We had several discussions today regarding the introduction of collectible sauces associated with IRL (Indy Racing League) teams,” said Jeffrey Furash, President of Burning Asphalt Sauces. Show participants and attendees could also discuss the opportunity to have a custom label sauce produced to use for promotions or to convey their message on a bottle. The custom label experts from Burning Asphalt Sauces were available throughout the day.

Syracuse, NY - The annual Hot Hues-Dupont Syracuse Nationals was well attended this past weekend with over 70,000 car enthusiasts on hand.  All roads appeared to lead to one of the newest vendors, Burning Asphalt Sauces, LLC.

Representatives from this hot company from Forestville, NY, wearing their eye-catching chili pepper hats, offered their signature line of hot sauces, bar-b-que sauces, salsas, and unique gift packs. “It was a given that show attendees have a deep passion for cars.  Based on the great response  to our sauces, it's obvious that they are also passionate about what they eat!"  said Mr. Jack Rawitz, CPH of the company.

"The reaction to our name and to our taste-testing exceeded our expectations.  Visitors appeared to enjoy both, as a high percentage of visitors to our booth purchased one or more bottles of sauce."  said Rawitz.

Messages in Bottles - Forestville firm, post office send care packages overseas

Forestville, NY - Burning Asphalt Sauces LLC. Provides Care Packages to Deployed Troops
Burning Asphalt Sauces, LLC. of Forestville, NY and employees of the Forestville Post Office have joined forces to send care packages to deployed troops overseas.  The joint venture entails writing letters of encouragement to soldiers as well as sending specific items for care packages. Once enough items are collected, Postmaster  Marilyn Sticek along with her employees, help assemble the packages for shipping.

This good humanitarian deed started 12 years ago when Sticek and her employees began writing and shipping essential items to deployed servicemen. When asked what the troops are in need of, Postmaster Sticek says, “Junk food, books, and toiletries seem to be what they miss and request most often.” With the help of Burning Asphalt Sauces, the servicemen will never lack hot sauce and other food items.

“We are very proud of being able to contribute to the program developed by these dedicated postal employees.  We will see to it that every food product we produce, including our signature hot sauces, will end up in the hands of these brave, deserving troops,” states Jeffrey Furash, President of the company. This is a totally self-sufficient program with all shipping expenses paid for by the employees of the Forestville Post Office. The effort was brought about through the desire to provide support and recognition of the immense dedication and commitment of soldiers.
